Simmer Down Central is a live reggae and world music radio show and podcast originating from the heart of Knoxville, Tennessee. Hosted by DJ Crowley and Ya Boy Blue, the show airs every Monday 10PM–12AM on 103.9 WOZO LP — and streams worldwide on WOZORADIO.COM, Tune-In, and Radio.Garden.
Every episode is a deep dive into the lives of musicians, artists, and creatives from around the globe. From life stories to tour tales and the creative magic behind the music — no topic is off the table. The show is known for its raw, unfiltered conversations that go beyond the music and into the people who make it.

Knoxville has a scene. And we’re proud to be part of it. Long before the podcast boom, Simmer Down was putting Tennessee on the map in the global reggae and world music conversation. We’ve hosted some of the most respected names in the genre — from Tribal Seeds and Nick Hexum of 311, to Fat Freddy’s Drop, Dub FX, Hempress Sativa, and Easy Star All-Stars — giving local fans access to artists they’d only heard on playlists.
We also rep Knoxville’s creative underground. Whether it’s a backyard reggae stage, a Camp Reggae field, or a packed WUTK studio session — if the vibe is right, we’re there. The family is always better together.
